Diggle

When I lived at The Wharf in Dobcross, I often walked up the canal towpath to Diggle where I had my studio in the Old Co-Op on Sam Road. From there I’d walk over Running Hill to St Chad’s Parish Church for a pint in the Cross Keys. Looking back towards Diggle, the ecology of the industrial revolution lay before me, the canal and the railway heading into the Standedge Tunnels, with Huddersfield Road bisecting the valley with the sheep on the hillsides.
