St Thomas' Church, Friarmere also known as Heights Chapel, featured in a major film ‘A Monster Calls’ starring Liam Neeson, Sigourney Weaver and Geraldine Chaplin. Based on the children’s novel by Patrick Ness, the book won both the prestigious Carnegie Medal and its sister prize for illustration.
